(Video) NBA: Hassan Whiteside Posts 14-Point, 13-Rebound, 12-Block Game & Says He Wanted 2K Rating Up

The Miami Heat’s season since the departure of LeBron James has been pretty up and down but on Sunday night they had a new bright star by the name of Hassan Whiteside.  The Chicago Bulls had no answer for Whiteside. In just 24 minutes on the floor, the Miami Heat center was a terror in the paint, putting up a career night with a triple-double of 14 points, 13 rebounds and a Heat franchise record 12 blocks.  When he was asked what his motivation was for the historic night, he had a hilarious answer.

NBA Rumors: Coldblooded, Miami Heat Ignored Nate Robinson’s Calls About Possibly Joining the Team

The Denver Nuggets traded Nate Robinson to the Boston Celtics whom eventually bought out his contract making him a free agent.  Instead of waiting for calls to come his way, Robinson decided to get the ball rolling himself and reached out to the Miami Heat.  Unfortunately they didn’t care enough to respond.

NBA: Dwyane Wade Fined $15,000 For Middle Finger Gesture Towards Hornets Fans

Dwyane Wade has been fined $15,000 for making an obscene gesture during the third quarter of the Heat’s 78-76 loss to the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday, January 21. Wade was noticeably frustrated throughout the game. It was Miami’s third loss in the last four games, and this was by far the ugliest played game with the team shooting 34.5 percent and getting out-rebounded 56 to 41. According to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, “Wade had been heckled about his age throughout the game by a fan seated near the Heat bench.” At some point, Wade turned and gave the middle finger to the group of fans and the league announced today he would be coughing up cash for that.

(Photos) NBA: Did Heat Owner Micky Arison Throw Shots at LeBron & the Cleveland Cavs?

When LeBron James left the Miami Heat and returned to the Cleveland Cavaliers, Heat owner Micky Arison said he was shocked and disappointed but also thanked James for everything he did for the team.  When James returned to Miami to play against the Heat the first time this season, he received a standing ovation and video tribute in his honor.  So it seemed Arison has been gracious in the loss of King James but he might be a little more bitter than we thought.

NBA Report: Nets Looking to Trade Brook Lopez, Miami Heat Shows Interest

The Brooklyn Nets are looking to trade Brook Lopez, Deron Williams and Joe Johnson.  Lopez is most likely to be moved as he has value on the court as a scoring big man and he is owed just one more season after this one.  The Miami Heat have long been looking to increase in size and have Lopez on their radar.

(Video) NBA: Rick Ross Backs Out of $100K Bet With Jalen Rose That Heat Will Be Better Than Cavs

Rick Ross is a big Miami Heat fan, so much so that he tattooed the Heat logo on his face.  Ross was so confident in his squad that he bet NBA analyst and former player Jalen Rose, $100K that the Heat would be better than the Cleveland Cavaliers this season even though LeBron James left the former for the latter.  According to Rose however, Ross got nervous about the bet during the Christmas Day game where the two teams met for the first time this season.  Even though the Heat beat the Cavs, Ross was reportedly not too impressed with his squad.
