Nicki Minaj has sent shockwaves around the web these past few days, after her verse from Lil Wayne’s Dedication 4 tape revealed she was “a Republican voting for Romney”. Well because, “these lazy b*tches are f*ckin’ up the economy,” of course. No one has actually found out yet from the HB whether she said the line for shock value/to make a point about the competition, or if she’s truly going to be voting against everything someone who came from the bottom should believe in. Yesterday afternoon, we finally got our hands on Lil Wayne’s Dedication 4 mixtape with DJ Drama. Much to the delight of Barbz everywhere, we saw there was a brand new Nicki Minaj collab on there, with her and Tunechi going in over G.O.O.D. Music’s hit record, “Mercy”. Before I got the chance to listen, I saw a couple people on my timeline saying they hope Nicki Minaj’s line doesn’t influence a whole bunch of easily swayed fans to vote for Romney, but I wasn’t sure what they were referring to. Upon listening, now I get it! ““I’m a Republican voting for Mitt Romney,” Nicki raps on the track. “You lazy b*tches are f*ckin’ up the economy!” Well then! The lead single “Mercy” featuring Kanye, Big Sean, Pusha T and 2 Chainz off their forthcoming compilation album Cruel Summer (due out August 7th) has officially been certified platinum, digitally moving 1,059,000 sales thus far!
