Calvin Johnson aka “Megatron” retired from football after this past season so he no longer has to worry about anymore injuries on the field. After the career he had, where he took some punishing hits, there was a couple things he needed to correct, mainly one of his fingers. Calvin Johnson of the Detroit Lions has been referred to as “Megatron” for a few years now. This week Nike and Hasbro, the original makers of Transformers, decided it was time for Calvin to have his own action figure. Nike and Hasbro collaborated for the Nike CJ81 Megatron Trainer Max, a purple-and-red shoe that has a matching Megatron Decepticon action figure. The transformer is actually part of a three-shoe package for Nike, which will have the Trainer Max, the Megatron Nike Air Trainer SC II and the Nike CJ81 Megatron Elite TD Cleat. “They are coming out with a little package or something like that,” Johnson said. “It’s going to be cool. It’s a cool little deal. I think kids will like it. I think everybody will like it. It’s cool shoes, plus you get a little toy.” Doesn’t matter how old you are while you read this, many people still love transformers. Hit the jump for pics.
Megatron’s Killer Finally Gets Sentenced
DJ Megatron(Corey McGriff) former 106 and Park and Hot 97 personality was shot and killed two years ago during a botched robbery. His killer has finally been sentenced! William Williams pled guilty to plead guilty to the first-degree manslaughter charge and will be serving a 21-year sentence. Williams was not alone during the tragic turn of events, but is the only of the duo that has officially been sentenced. DJ Megatron is survived by three kids and his fiancee. Steph B

Another game with trash talking going on! We got some good match-ups this Sunday. The other day Seahawks’ Richard Sherman changed his name on Twitter to “Optimus Prime,” a response to Lions’ Calvin Johnson’s nickname of “Megatron.” There’s a good chance Sherman just motivated Johnson. Seahawks’ Richard Sherman made a different kind move to get ready for the game Sunday against the Lions. Sherman changed his name on Twitter to “Optimus Prime,” a response to Calvin Johnson’s nickname of “Megatron.” For those not hip to Transformers, Optimus Prime is the main protagonist robot in the Transformers franchise, while Megatron is the leader of the villainous Decepticons.
