Mayor Michael Bloomberg is blaming Apple for the crime increase, saying that if it weren’t for a growth in theft of iPhones and iPads in New York City that crime would in fact be down. The Mayor cited an increase in thefts of the popular devices as the key thing raising the New York City Crime Index this year, but goes on to show that though crime is up, this has also been one historically one of the safest years for other reasons. Bloomberg Warns Painful Cuts To Schools
New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg says teachers need to be held accountable or some painful education cuts will be made. This in response to a call to publicly rate teachers. The teachers union and the government have been in discussion about the rating process of the teachers. A bill passed in New York State says that teacher ratings do not need to be displayed publicly, Bloomberg was against the bill and wants to make sure that teachers have the proper safe checks in place to make sure they are reaching their goals.
