Auto Talk: An $8 million “Maserati” that goes 46 mph

This week, the racing yacht VOR70 Maserati finished its run from Miami to New York City. Intended as a record attempt, skipper Giovanni Soldini elected not to have the final time of the transit ratified because he didn’t feel it was reflective of the real speed Maserati is capable of. (The boat had to deal with several weather systems on its way up from Florida, which slowed it. Another attempt at a better time will be made in the future.) Funk Flex

Auto Talk: Abarth pays homage to Maserati with Geneva-bound 695 cabrio special

The Fiat group has a knack for (or a habit of) dressing up its most affordable hatchbacks in tribute to its most expensive exotics. But since the latter has run its production run, the Scorpion marque is celebrating Maserati with this latest version. Funk Flex

Auto Talk: Maserati releases new GranTurismo Sport ahead of Geneva debut

Introduced five years ago, we wouldn’t go so far as to say the Maserati GranTurismo is old, but it is getting up there. And so to tide it over, Maserati is releasing the tempting new version you see here. Funk Flex

Auto Talk: Maserati planning diesel version of upcoming “Maseratina” baby Quattroporte

A diesel Maserati? Perish the thought! But if Porsche and the BMW M division can make diesels, anything is possible. And that appears to be just what Maserati has planned. Funk Flex

Auto Talk: Maserati hits the matte with exclusive GranTurismo S Limited Edition

We like us some matte finish here at IFWT, but we have to admit that the usual smattering of matte black vinyl wraps leave us a bit in the dark. That’s why our eyes pop just a little wider when we see a car that cuts the glare but keeps the palette. That’s also why the storied brands of the Fiat group are getting top marks in our books these days. Funk Flex
