Kendrick Lamar Says He’s Cool With Drake…But He’d Be Okay If They Weren’t

Kendrick Lamar graces the cover of GQ’s latest issue as the prestigious magazine’s “Man Of The Year.” The accompanying article follows Kendrick Lamar during a few days at the end of late August…a time when the buzz from his verse in “Control” was still at deafening levels. Backstage at the 2013 MTV VMAs, the Compton rapper bumped into one of the artists he named in his controversial verse, Drake, so the interviewer took the opportunity to find out their status. “Pretty cool,” Kendrick said of his relationship with the YMCMB rapper. However, he was sure to add in: “I mean, I would be okay if we weren’t.” In the time since that interview took place, Drake has addressed the verse on multiple occasions, seeming to take a slight offense to it. Kendrick seemed to take aim at Drake again during his cypher at the 2013 BET Awards, but his target was never confirmed, and no further beef ensued. Wonder if this new interview will spark tension back up again? Hmm!

(Video) 2 Chainz Receives Source Magazine “Man Of The Year” Award

2 Chainz has been honored as the Source Magazine’s man of the year and accepted his award at his performance in NYC. Source’s owner and publisher- L. Londell McMillan, Editor In Chief-Kim Osorio and Assistant Editor-Sean Lynch were on hand to present the hair weave killa with the award. I know Chainz gets a lot of slack since he isn’t exactly the most lyrical rapper in the game, but to say that he didn’t have the game on lock this year would be a lie. Not to mention, Chainz has had quite the hard time making it big from failing in his Disturbing Tha Peace and Playaz Circle  days. Watch his speech below. Julie A.
