Just another day for MGK. He went a little too hard per usual and broke his finger while slamming against the stage in a fit of musical passion. Vegas gets you going !! Than he jumped off a balcony into a pool with the mic.

The season of festivals is upon us! Yesterday, the lineups for both Soundset 2016 and the inaugural Panorama Festival were announced, and they’re both SO good! Soundset goes down Memorial Day Weekend – May 29, to be exact – at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds in St. Paul, Minnesota. Tons of names are on the bill, including A$AP Rocky, Machine Gun Kelly, one of my favorite upcoming female rappers Lexii Aliijai, Danny Brown, Jay Rock, Post Malone, Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals, Common, The Roots…the list goes on and on! The 10-hour event will also feature a B-Boy/B-Girl competition, as well as a graffiti showcase. As for the inaugural Panorama Festival, it will go down right here in NYC, at Randall’s Island Park from July 22 through the 24. It’s put together by the same company that brings us Coachella, and will feature ScHoolboy Q, Kendrick Lamar, SZA, A$AP Rocky, DJ Khaled, Run The Jewels, Anderson .Paak and many more. It also promises “dynamic art installations, innovative technology, and some of NYC’s best local eats.”
Machine Gun Kelly has announced the dates for his third annual EST fEST. Launched in 2013, the weekend festival has brought out thousands of fans each year, and artists among the likes of Waka Flocka, Juvenile, Kid Ink and many more. Each year has a theme, and this year, MGK has gone with “The Last Weekend on Earth,” following 2014’s circus theme. (2015 was skipped due to tour and movie commitments.) The weekend will go down August 5-7 in Garrettsville, OH, and early bird tickets are available now here. We’ll keep you updated on the lineup as it’s announced!
As previously reported, Nas is the executive producer of and curating the soundtrack for The Land, an upcoming film about Cleveland that stars Machine Gun Kelly, Erykah Badu and more. After the film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival last weekend, the legendary Queens rapper sat down with Revolt TV to share some more details on what to expect. “Lots of good talent in the film,” Nas said. “It’s based in Cleveland, in the hoods of Cleveland. … The timing worked out impeccably. So it’s just like living the life right now.” The Land will focus on four skateboarders from the 216, and their trials and tribulations as they moonlight as drug dealers. Will you be checking for this when it drops?
Machine Gun Kelly was in LAX yesterday to catch a flight to the Sundance Film Festival (where he performed last night alongside Erykah Badu and Nas to celebrate the premiere of their new film, The Land.) While walking through the airport, the “Till I Die” rapper was followed by a photog who apparently was a huge fan – but made the mistake of calling him “one of the top 5 white rappers.” “I mean I’m not just a great WHITE rapper,” an annoyed MGK responded. “I’m a great rapper, motherf*cker.” As the photog tried to backpedal, MGK elaborated on the issue of race in rap, and took a slight dig at Macklemore’s new song when he said, “Race is not an issue. Race is an issue for people like Macklemore and sh*t.” Welp! Check out the full clip below.
Machine Gun Kelly is visiting across the pond this week, and he stopped by Charlie Sloth’s spot on BBC1 Xtra while there. As part of Charlie’s ‘Fire In The Booth’ series, MGK spit some crazy bars for the camera, and you can check it out below!
