(Photos) Check Out The First Preview Of M.A.C.’s Selena Collection!

Last summer, M.A.C. Cosmetics revealed that they’d be releasing a collection honoring the late Selena, set to arrive this year. Today, we finally have a preview of what to expect, as well as its release date – October! “I wanted the colors to be about her personally, what she wore on and offstage,” Selena’s sister, Suzette Quintanilla, says. “She has been gone for 21 years already, and for this collaboration to happen, it’s pretty much incredible. It just shows the love her fan base has even though she’s gone; that her music still lives on and her legacy has grown tremendously since she’s passed. It’s a great honor to have M·A·C collaborate with Selena’s name and her fans — FOR her fans.” I’m SO excited about this line! Check out a preview of the Como La Flor Lipstick below!

M.A.C.’s new Future Forward campaign has tapped four women who are working their way up in music, or as they put it: “reshaping music’s future.” Following in the footsteps of Rihanna, Mariah Carey, Lady Gaga and more over the years, Tinashe, DeJ Loaf, Halsey and Lion Babe’s Jillian Hervey are the new faces of the cosmetic brand. Available this Spring, DeJ will have her own lip gloss, while Tinashe will have her own eye shadow palette, Lion Babe will have a custom gold eye liner…and I honestly can’t tell what Halsey will have, but it seems like it’s a gray/blue lipstick. Aaliyah Fans Start Petition For A M.A.C. Collection

After the late Selena’s estate announced that they’d teamed up with M.A.C. Cosmetics for a line inspired by the legendary songstress, the late Aaliyah’s fans are after the same thing. Selena fans garnered attention with 40,000 signatures on a petition, and now Aaliyah fans have created a Change.org petition themselves, aiming only for 2,500 signatures. Naturally, it’s nearly reached that number already. According to the petition, Aaliyah’s brother Rashad Haughton approved of a limited edition collection by M.A.C. for her, since she loved their products. August 25 will make 14 years since Aaliyah’s passing. Head here if you’d like to sign the petition.

What Do A Lawsuit, Rihanna & Herpes Have In Common?

Herpes rumors surrounded Rihanna for years, especially after that infamous fight with Chris Brown. A new lawsuit associated with the superstar concerns the awful STD as well, but luckily, it has nothing to do with something that Rih did. A woman by the name of Starkeema Greenidge has filed suit against M.A.C. Cosmetics, Inc, claiming that a sample of Rih’s new lipstick “RiRi Woo” given to her at Rihanna’s Barclays Center show earlier this month gave her herpes. Greenidge says a M.A.C. rep applied the red lipstick to her upper lip, told her to press her lips together and spread it around. Since it was a sample, it had been on many others’ lips as well. Allegedly the day after the concert, “My whole lip was irritated and hugely swollen,” Greenidge says. She immediately went to a doctor, who then told her she had herpes. Not sure if she’ll win in court, but let’s see what happens!
