Raekwon fans probably wanted a Wu-Tang reunion when they saw him headlining for this years Brooklyn music festival. That was far from what they got. Keeping an ear for whats current Raekwon brought out Brooklyn’s hot new freshman rappers. Troy Ave, Papoose and Bobby Shurmurda were his guest. Troy Ave delivered with his hit single “Your Style.” The crowd wasn’t too hyped when “Hot N*gga” came on but that could be because it wasn’t enough authentic “hip-hop” for the same crowd that came to see Jay Electronica. Or it could just be because they weren’t expecting Shurmurda. Either way Bobby Shurmurda is here to stay for the summer. He is also rumored to have caught up with Jay-Z backstage.

At the Bonnaroo festival Kanye West opened up the first day of this three day festival and of course he didn’t disappoint. Starting the performance with “Black Skinhead”, “Cold” and “Mercy” Yeezus did what he does best , entertain. Forget about ThrowbackThursday, Chance The Rapper really brought it back for all the 80’s and 90’s baby’s with this one. He performed the popular PBS kids show theme song for a live crowd. Surprisingly the crowd knew the song and even sang along. It was a pretty dope performance and he payed homage to the cartoon greats.
