There’s a whopping 6 debuts in Billboard’s top 10 album sales this week, and the Frozen soundtrack has FINALLY been bumped from number one – thanks to one of those 6 debuts! The 50th installment of the Now series debuted at number one, moving 153k in the last 7 days. Crazy how it’s still doing so well after all of these years! Another strong debut was Tech N9ne’s Strangeulation, coming in at number 5 with 36k sold. Congrats! Get the full top 10 below.

Every year, the annual XXL Freshman cover creates a huge buzz, opening the door to much debate about whether these coveted 10 (now up to 12) artists deserve the spotlight as “the next big thing.” Since its inception in 2008, the cover has become bigger and bigger, now being practically a rite of passage for new artists in the game. Finally! The XXL 2014 Freshmen Class To Be Announced When?!
The time has finally come! Though in years prior, the coveted XXL Freshmen issue was released early on in the year (around late February/early March), it took a bit longer than usual this year…but I’m sure it’ll be worth the wait! DJ Drama has revealed that the 2014 XXL Freshmen class will be announced TONIGHT on 106 & Park, which airs on BET at 6pm EST. There have been tons of whispers and rumors as to who will be on it, and though I know exactly who made the cut – I’m keeping my lips sealed! However, I will give you one hint: one of them is my absolute FAVORITE and I talk about him quite often. Any guesses? Let me know on Twitter!

Billboard’s Top 10 Album Sales, Week Ending 4/13/14 … ‘Frozen’ Soundtrack Keeps Breaking Records!
Disney’s “Frozen” soundtrack won’t stop its reign! For the 10th [nonconsecutive] week, it holds down the number one spot on the Billboard 200, moving an additional 133k copies in the last 7 days. The album’s cumulative sales now rest at a cool 2.1 million, and is now one of just 11 albums to have spent at least 10 weeks at number 1 since the chart started using SoundScan’s point-of-sale data on May 25, 1991. In addition, “Frozen” now ties “The Lion King” for the most weeks at No. 1 for an animated film soundtrack. Get the full top 10 below!
Billboard’s Top 10 Album Sales, Week Ending 4/6/14 … ‘Frozen’ Soundtrack Continues Its Reign!
For the ninth nonconsecutive week, Disney’s soundtrack to Frozen sits in the top spot on Billboard 200, with an additional 149k copies sold – bringing its tally to 1.9 million. The album is one week away from tying The Lion King for the longest run at number one by an animated film soundtrack. The Lion King held the number one spot for 10 nonconsecutive weeks from late ’94 through the top of 1995. Get the full top 10 below!
