This has been a rough few months for Subway. Today on Tuesday, September 15th, CEO and co-founder of the popular Subway sandwich chain was pronounced dead after battling with Leukemia for over two years at the age of 67-years-old.

Sager’s son Craig Sager Jr. announced that his father was set for another battle as the leukemia made it’s way back.

Sager captured the world’s attention with the blinding suits he’d wear each game but his genuine and charismatic personality is what kept everyone wanting to see more as well as the occasional battle with Spurs coach Gregg Popovich. The veteran sideline reporter stepped away from his job last April when it was announced he had acute leukemia but gladly he’s now coming back.
