Four of the most high profile players in the NBA delivered a powerful speech to start the ESPYS off this past Wednesday and it’s clear people were listening. In fact, the largest police union in the country appreciated the message that Melo, Chris Paul, Dwyane Wade & Lebron delivered so much, that they want to get together with them ASAP!

Last night during the ESPYs, “The Brotherhood” of LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Dwyane Wade and Chris Paul gave a passionate speech about ending gun violence and racial profiling, and challenged other athletes in the room to get involved in their communities to help solve the problem. Peyton Manning was leaving LeBron’s after-party at Le Jardin in Hollywood when he was asked about the speech.

Following the recent incidents such as the killing of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile, NBA players such as Carmelo Anthony, Dwayne Wade, Chris Paul, and Lebron James have called to end violence during the ESPY’s.

Lebron James was on top of the world during the Cavaliers championship parade in downtown Cleveland. He addressed an estimated crowd of more than one million people and millions more on television but there apparently were some haters in the audience. Two people filed complaints with the FCC for Bron’s F-bombs and one of them referred to him as a “drunken sailor”.

Lebron James has the money to pay for pretty much anything he wants in this world. Years of NBA salaries and off the court endorsements, combined with smart business decisions has made Lebron a very, very rich man. Just because he has access to the money however, doesn’t mean he likes to spend it. That’s how the rich stay rich, except Lebron’s moments of “being savvy” don’t really make much sense. Nobody is immune to feeling some type of emotion with all the police related incidents that have happened this week. Alton Sterling and Philando Castile both lost their lives this week in separate interactions with police that most people with common sense would know didn’t have to happen. People were angry and justifiably so as yet again, black men were executed by police without the need for that type of force to be used. Last night, things escalated even worse, as members of the Dallas PD were ambushed by a gunman and possibly others, which resulted in the deaths of five police officers and at least one innocent bystander. Athletes might make way more money than us but they feel the same things we do and many of them, including Lebron James, Kevin Durant, Deion Sanders and more took to social media to vent.
