(Photo) Alleged Winning Lottery Ticket “Too Damaged” To Claim Jackpot; Man Sues California Lottery

A man is suing the California lottery after he claims that he bought a $63 million winning ticket and was told the ticket was “too damaged” and not eligible for the jackpot. Brandy Milliner of Los Angeles claims he purchased the ticket at a 7-Eleven in Chatsworth, California, back in August 2015, which matched the six winning numbers. He claims, upon bringing the ticket to lottery officials he was given a congratulatory note and a photocopy of his ticket. However six months later, Milliner received another yet from lottery officials retracting his win, saying his ticket was “too damaged.” More below.

The Game Loses $10 Million Sexual Assault Lawsuit

Just a few days before the series premiere of The Game’s VH1 reality TV show, ‘She’s Got Game’ contest Priscilla Rainey filed a $10 million lawsuit against the Compton rapper. In the suit, Rainey claimed, Game got intoxicated and “out of control” during a video shoot last year and he “forcefully reach[ed] his hand inside her dress to rub her bare vagina and buttocks.” The Game never responded to the lawsuit, and the judge ruled against him by default. The case will go back to court February 24th and the judge will determine if he will have to pay the full $10 million in damages. Stay tuned, we’ll keep you updated.

Roc Nation Slams Rita Ora With Lawsuit

Rita Ora is being sued by Roc Nation. The label run by music mogul Jay-Z, claims back in 2008 they invested million of dollars into her career and she was required to deliver five albums. However back in December, Rita Ora filed a lawsuit against the label. The suit stated,

“Rita’s remaining supporters at the label left or moved on to other activities, to the point where she no longer had a relationship with anyone at the company.”

The label is now clapping back claiming they have already spent more than $2.3 million marketing her second album and can not get that money back. Ora’s attorney is confident the suit will get thrown out, because according to him, Jay-Z has already promised to release her from the contract. I guess we’ll have to wait and see how this unfolds.

Cash Money Owes Over $1 Million To Jay Sean

Singer Jay Sean began his career on Cash Money back in 2008, and released his first album on the label in 2009, All or Nothing. He’s since left the label (like just about everyone else), and later filed a lawsuit to collect royalties that Birdman and co. owed him. A judge has now determined that Cash Money has to pay out $1.14 million in royalties to Orange Factory Music, who continued to receive statements for royalty payments from Jay’s album, but never actually saw a check. Just add this to the growing list of lawsuits against YMCMB!

Former Member Of The Roots Sues The Group

In a new lawsuit filed by former bass player for The Roots, Leonard “Hub” Hubbard, he alleges that the group cut him out of his share of their earnings per his original contract with them, after he was forced to leave the group because of a bout with cancer. Hub helped form the group back in 1992, and stayed with them until multiple myeloma forced him to leave in 2007. According to Hub, his contract called for him to continue getting paid as a co-owner, but a former manager for the group sent him a letter in 2014 threatening that he was going to lose his health insurance and his cut of the band’s revenues. Hub is suing founding members Questlove and Black Thought and their current manager for an unspecified amount.

Jay Z Sued For $18 Million For Failed Cologne

Jay Z released his Gold Jay Z cologne in 2013, but apparently he didn’t live up to his end of the deal with its distributor to promote it properly. Parlux Fragrances is now suing the music mogul over it. In their suit, Parlux says Hov was supposed to make social media posts and promotional appearances – including GMA, a Macy’s in-store and in Women’s Wear Daily – but he declined. They also say there was supposed to be a line of follow-up fragrances that Jay helped develop, but he “dodged meetings,” so they never happened. Instead of making the projected $50 million over 2 years from the colognes like they’d thought, Parlux is losing money, and stores are returning unsold inventory. They are asking for $18 million in damages.
