Wiz Khalifa Sued By Former Label, Rostrum Records

Earlier this month, Wiz Khalifa sued his former label, Rostrum Records. Rostrum is the indie, Pittsburgh-based label that Wiz got his start on at just 16-years-old, but left a few years back as his celebrity grew and he needed a stronger backing. In Wiz’s suit, he was asking for $1 million for Rostrum failing to disclose alternative arrangements that could be more beneficial to him, and instead tied him to an agreement that “reached for more than a decade into virtually every aspect” of his professional life.


NBA: NYPD Responds to Thabo Sefolosha’s $50 Million Lawsuit Saying Force Used Was Justified

Atlanta Hawks star Thabo Sefolosha is suing the City of NY and the five officers who subdued and arrested him back in April 2015.  Sefolosha says the officers used unnecessary force and he suffered a broken leg and ligament damage; he is suing for $50 million.  The NYPD officers involved say they were completely justified in their action.


Fat Joe Settles With Big Pun’s Widow In Big Pun Royalties Lawsuit

Big Pun’s widow, Liza Rios, previously sued Fat Joe and music publisher Jelly’s Jams for breach of contract, claiming she was owed a pretty big amount for Pun’s royalties that she was not receiving. The numbers weren’t revealed, but insiders say Rios accused Joey of withholding at least $2 million. Bossip reports the parties settled yesterday during a status hearing at Manhattan Federal Court. The previous day, lawyers for both sides spent all day in mediation.
