After losing power while in the air, a sight seeing helicopter was forced to make an emergency landing on the water near 79th street. With four people on board, the pilot made a sound decision to land as promptly and safely. The difference between emergency landings with airplanes and helicopters is: with loss of power, airplanes have the ability to glide and land properly while helicopters usually go straight down immediately. Hit the jump watch the chopper get towed back to land.
Here’s something you don’t see everyday. A pilot in Alaska experienced engine failure immediately after takeoff. Watch this video, from three different camera angles, as he brings his plane in for a crash landing in a remote field. Video after jump.
