Los Angeles Lakers coach Byron Scott is totally inept and is basically on borrowed time.  Scott often contradicts himself, the only thing that remains constant is his adoration for Kobe Bryant.  The Black Mamba has been struggling with his shot this season but it hasn’t stopped him from taking majority of the attempts on the team.  Scott is counting on Kobe to lead the team’s ball movement efforts, something even Kobe found amusing. At practice Monday, Scott was asked how Kobe’s penchant for isolation hoops was damaging the Lakers ball movement plans; his answer?  Basically Kobe is Kobe which means he can do whatever he wants.


NBA: Kobe Bryant on Lakers Possibly Ending Warriors Win Streak: “I’ve seen stranger things happen”

The Los Angeles Lakers lost to the Portland Trailblazers 107-93 on Sunday, dropping them to 2-11 and the bottom of the Western Conference.  The Golden State Warriors on the other hand beat the Denver Nuggets 118-105 on Sunday, bringing them to an NBA record tying (1993-94 Houston Rockets & 1948-49 Washington Capitols) 15-0 start at not only the top of the Western Conference but leading the league overall.  On Tuesday night the Lakers and Warriors will face off.  It’s expected by many that the Warriors will win and move up to a record breaking 16-0 start but can the Lakers pull off the upset?


NBA: Kobe Bryant After Playing 36 Minutes in Lakers Win: ‘I’m barely standing up’

Kobe Bryant is 37 years old, playing in his 20th NBA season and has battled a multitude of injuries.  Though he wasn’t able to fulfill his quest of playing every game this season, he’s still trying to play as many minutes as possible.  During the Lakers 97-85 win over the Pistons, Bryant played a season high 36 minutes while dropping a near triple-double with 17 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists.  Though he was happy with the win, Bryant made it quite clear that his body was in agony.
