Kristaps Porzingis and his agent, Andy Miller, pretty much went out of their way to make sure KP didn’t wind up in Philly, with the habitual losers in the Sixers. No young player really wants to go into an environment where they want you to lose but each year, someone has to be picked by Philly. Porzingis was not going to allow it to happen.
The Knicks game against the Clippers last night was pretty ugly but it could have been worse. A small brawl almost popped off after Robin Lopez caught Chris Paul in the face with a left handed slap and appeared to cut his lip.
The Knicks are playing better than they did last year but that still isn’t saying much. It doesn’t take much to improve on a season where only 15 games were won all year. Although Melo has been solid and Kristaps Porzingis has set the city on fire with his play early on, the fact remains overall they stink. Last night against the Bulls they hit a new all time low and coach Derek Fisher called them out for being quitters after.
Most 20 year old kids with access to millions of dollars would have a hard time containing themselves and not burning through wads of cash unnecessarily. Kristaps Porzingis is the biggest sensation in the most famous city in the world but even at his young age he is showing he is mature beyond his years.
The Kings beat the Knicks last night 99-97, thanks in part to an ill advised, forced shot from Carmelo that fell short at the buzzer. Earlier in the night, Melo did his best to avoid getting put on a poster courtesy of a dunk from Rajon Rondo. It was allegedly Rondo’s first dunk in three years. Melo’s teammate, Robin Lopez, was not so lucky. He got destroyed by a ferocious dunk at the hands of DeMarcus Cousins.
