A picture is worth 1000 words, but sometimes – what you see is not always what it is. Last week, photos surfaced of 50 Cent confronting Steve Stoute at a Knicks game, a result of comments Steve had made about the Queens rapper in an interview with Angie Martinez that week while promoting his VH1 series, The Tanning of America. In the interview, Steve was asked to name the 5 artists that he feels have had the biggest impact and influence on the culture, and after naming the only 4 that he feels qualify (Jay, Dre, Puff and Ye), Angie noted that he didn’t add in 50 Cent, and Steve went on to explain why he left Fif off the list. Among other things, he said that musically, he hasn’t made anything that’s “meaningful” in a very long time, and had a snarky remark about him not getting airplay. However, these jabs didn’t come completely out of left field.
