In 2014, Kevin Roper was driving a Walmart truck on the New Jersey Turnpike when he plowed into a limo; killing one man and severely injuring comedian Tracy Morgan. Although a National Transportation Safety Board concluded, after an investigation, that Morgan and the other occupant of the limo were not wearing seatbelts, it also concluded Roper was sleep deprived. Today [Dec. 23] a grand jury decided to charge Roper with first-degree aggravated manslaughter, second-degree vehicular homicide and third-degree aggravated assault-charges that he prayed would be dropped.
