During Kevin Durant’s media session following his practice with Team USA, he addressed a lot of questions that have arisen since he decided to leave the Oklahoma City Thunder and join the Golden State Warriors.  He answered several questions concerning his former teammate Russell Westbrook and some other topics.  Here he explains why he didn’t give the Los Angeles Lakers a meeting, how he felt about the Boston Celtics bringing Tom Brady to their meeting with him, and if he has any concerns on the backlash he’s received.

As I’ve said in previous posts, with Kevin Durant’s decision to leave the Oklahoma City Thunder, all eyes turned to Russell Westbrook.  Everyone wondered how Westbrook felt about the situation, if he had any prior knowledge, if he told Durant he was going to leave OKC and more.  Durant’s introductory presser with the Warriors didn’t reveal much, but he did an interview following his practice with Team USA for the Olympics.

NBA Report: Russell Westbrook Was ‘Ticked Off’ Kevin Durant Left & Is Ready to Lead OKC

Since the departure of Kevin Durant to the Oklahoma City Thunder, eyes have turned to Russell Westbrook and his future.  Westbrook will become a free agent next year and the Thunder are faced with the task of what to do.  They don’t know if Westbrook wants to stay but can’t risk letting him walk away with nothing in return like they did with Durant.  But there are murmurs that he does want to stay in OKC, at least for now.

While many fans are still upset about Kevin Durant’s decision to leave the Thunder and sign with the already loaded Warriors, players themselves aren’t upset at all. Sure they might be mad that it will take a miracle to beat a team like that in the playoffs but they all support Durant’s decision to do as he pleased as a free agent. The entire point of free agency is to give a player some power since for the most part the power always lays in the hands of the owner. JJ Redick of the Clippers is one person who should be mad, considering his team will have to get through the Warriors if they want to reach an NBA finals but he is actually tired of the criticism KD has been receiving and broke down some facts on twitter.

NBA: Kevin Durant Says Relationship With Russell Westbrook ‘Probably Won’t Ever Be the Same’

After spending eight years together, Kevin Durant decided to part ways with his partner in crime, Russell Westbrook.  Durant became a free agent and decided to leave the Oklahoma City Thunder and join the Golden State Warriors.  The attention immediately shifted to Westbrook; how he felt about the decision, what the Thunder would do, and what were his plans?

NBA: Adam Silver Says Kevin Durant Signing With Warriors is Not ‘Ideal’ & Shows Need to Change CBA

When Kevin Durant decided to join the Golden State Warriors during this year’s free agency, many people considered them a “super-team” practically guaranteed to win an NBA championship.  The league doesn’t have much parity as it’s pretty much considered a two-team league with many thinking the Cleveland Cavaliers and Warriors will meet in the NBA Finals for the third consecutive year.  NBA commissioner Adam Silver expressed his concern on the matter.
