Last October, Dr. Dre put the bug in people’s ear about a tour that might be taking place that included himself, Snoop, Eminem, and also Kendrick. That actually sounds like a pretty amazing show to be at.

Kendrick Lamar’s alma mater, Centennial High School, is proud of their alumnus – and with great reason! Kendrick’s music is powerful and comes with a great message, and the Compton native has made sure to give back to his community as often as he can throughout his rise to fame and riches. In tribute to the Grammy Award-winning rapper, Centennial High dedicated their on-campus billboard to Kendrick, with a very fitting message. Captured by TDE member and ScHoolboy Q’s DJ A-Mack, check out the photo below. If you missed it, you can view the BTS vlog of Kendrick bringing a few Centennial High students to the Grammys earlier this week here.
Every now and then, Kendrick Lamar drops a never before heard track on us that completely blows us away. At the top of the year, K. Dot performed ‘Untitled 2’ as a surprise to fans on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon. Then during the Grammys Monday night, Kendrick performed hits from his award winning album To Pimp A Butterfly; including “The Blacker The Berry” and “Alright,” however it was the track, “Untitled 3” that really had fans buzzing. It remains unclear if the rapper will ever officially drop any one of these tracks; “Untitled,” “Untitled 2” or “Untitled 3” but in an interview with Grammys.com, Kendrick Lamar revealed there’s plenty more where they came from. He explained, “I got a chamber of material from the album that I was in love [with] where sample clearances or something as simple as a deadline kept it off the album,” he continued, “But I think probably close to ten songs that I’m in love with that I’ll still play and still perform that didn’t make the cut.”
The people of Compton must be oh so proud of Kendrick Lamar. From taking home 5 Grammy’s, to giving what a lot of people are calling the “Best Performance” last night, K.Dott has yet to disappoint. In his new Noisey documentary, “Bompton”, Kendrick now speaks on some of the struggles he has endured growing up in the city of Compton.
While Kendrick was stealing the show with his Grammy performance, there was a few things that we as viewers noticed. There was a few lyric changes to the set but we also see there was a huge audio cut in the perforce also as Kendrick performed “Alright.” The audio cut took place at the part where Kendrick said, “Diggin’ in my pocket, ain’t a profit big enough to feed you.”
Kendrick Lamar stole the show at The Grammy’s last night. Kendrick also did more than we saw on our TV screens. We learned that Kendrick took a group of students from a High School in Compton and bought them along with him to The Grammy’s. For some of us, being in attendance at The Grammy’s is a dream come true, so for him to be able to do this for these kids was amazing.
