Karl Anthony Towns brought the Joel Embiid hype machine back down to earth a little bit last night. In what was touted as a matchup of two of the leagues future big men superstars, the game between the Wolves and Sixers, as well as the personal matchup between Towns & Embiid turned out to be no contest.

NBA players love to have fun with the young kids during summer basketball camps. We’ve all seen some of our favorite stars blocking a little kids shot, or maybe hitting them with a crossover that got the other kids in the gym laughing but I don’t know if we’ve ever seen the ruthlessness which Karl-Anthony Towns displayed this week at a camp in Minnesota. All it took was one dribble and two steps from the three point line for a young camper to regret ever trying to keep Towns from getting to the rim.

Chris Paul loves the kids and has constantly gone out of his way to give back to the younger generation and have an impact on them the best way he can. Yesterday, Chris, along with his Chris Paul Family Foundation, State Farm and NBA Cares, held an event at the Educational Alliance Boys & Girls Club’s Edgies Clubhouse in New York City where they unveiled a state of the art mobile teen learning center. This was all part of the State Farm Assists Tracker, which provided $5 for every assist made league wide during the 2015-16 season to help renovate select Boys & Girls clubs across the country. We were invited to the event and had a chance to sit down with both Chris Paul & Minnesota Timberwolves rookie of the year, Karl Anthony Towns.

NBA: Karl Anthony-Towns Wins Rookie of the Year By Unanimous Vote
It’s not really a surprise but Karl Anthony-Towns has been named the NBA Rookie of the Year. Towns won by a unanimous vote and makes back-to-back years a Minnesota Timberwolves player won the award, joining Andrew Wiggins of last season.
