The New York Mets put up a tough fight in Game 1 of the World Series against the Kansas City Royals. Game 2 was a blowout in favor of the Royals and Game 3 was the exact opposite, a blowout for the Mets. No one knew what to expect for Game 4, but in order to stay in it, the Mets definitely needed to take the W. Unfortunately, after missing basic plays, the Mets fell to the Royals, 5-3.
For whatever reason, New York sports teams love to give us fans multiple panic attacks before actually winning the playoff game or season in question. Right on cue, the New York Mets had done the same, after losing the first two games in the World Series against the Kansas City Royals. Most fans thought it was a wrap, as it is way harder for baseball players to come back from a 2-0 start in a 7-game series. Last night, the Mets showed otherwise as they defeated the Royals in Game 3 at Citi Field.
If you watched game 1 of the World Series then you noticed amongst the sea of blue one man in bright orange stood out. Decked out in an orange visor and orange jacket sitting in the front row behind home plate was Laurence Leavy, a diehard Miami Marlins fan. Royals officials reportedly were desperate to get him to move but were unsuccessful in doing so.
The Kansas City Royals are heading to the World Series and though the St. Louis Cardinals got eliminated in the NL championship series, Nelly says its okay to root for their regional rivals.
