Former N.W.A. manager Jerry Heller passed away over the weekend, and he was still on a bad page with all of the members. Up until now, the only people who had commented on his passing was MC Ren, and even he didn’t have much to say. While at the airport on Sunday, Ice Cube’s son O’Shea Jackson Jr., who played his father in Straight Outta Compton last year, said that the good things Heller had done for the group did not outweigh the bad. He couldn’t bring himself to really find any nice things to say, so he didn’t say too much. Now his father has made a statement, while speaking with news station Local 4 in Detroit over the weekend.
Jerry Heller passed away on Friday at the age of 75, due to a car accident as a result of having what’s been described as “a medical emergency” while driving. (Since there wasn’t one, and the guy who reported it was a racist weirdo.) Despite not seeing eye to eye and currently having a lawsuit out over last year’s Straight Outta Compton movie, former N.W.A. manager Jerry Heller spoke with paparazzi last night and sided with Dre. He feels the issue is clearly race, and that’s that. Agreed! Check out what he said below.
Last fall, former N.W.A. manager Jerry Heller filed a lawsuit against the producers of Straight Outta Compton, claiming that it was “filled with defamatory lies.” The $110 million defamation of character lawsuit also named Ice Cube, Dr. Dre and the Estate of Eazy-E, but they can rest easy now that a judge has dismissed most of it. However…
