Nicki Minaj’s brother, Jelani Maraj, is preparing for trial in his child rape case. In 2015, Maraj was arrested for reportedly raping a 12-year-old girl over the course of eight months, but he maintains his innocence. In the latest update from the case, his legal team has filed multiple motions – one questioning the legality of the top charge, the second to suppress evidence found at his house and the last asking the court to reveal details about the alleged victim’s sexual history.
Nicki Minaj’s Brother Has Been Indicted On Child Rape Charges
Back in March, Nicki Minaj’s older brother’s child rape case was sent to a grand jury. If you are unfamiliar with the situation, Jelani Maraj was accused of raping a 12-year-old girl over the course of several months in 2015, including after his summer wedding. After deliberating for just under a month, the jury decided there was enough evidence, and have decided to indict Maraj on a top charge of felony predatory sexual assault against a child, as well as felony sexual conduct against a child under age 13, sexual conduct against a child and endangering the welfare of a child.
Nicki Minaj’s Brother’s Child Rape Case Sent To Grand Jury
Last year, Nicki Minaj’s older brother, Jelani Maraj, was accused of raping a 12-year-old girl over the course of several months. Today, Bossip reports that the case has been sent to a grand jury, the first big step in it going to trial. The Nassau County District Attorney is working with the Supreme Court’s sex crimes division to determine whether or not they should indict him. During the hearings that will take place, no judge and no press will be allowed, as it is only the jurors speaking to witnesses and reviewing evidence to decide whether they should indict him.

I know this is not about Nicki, but damn she has to be going through it right now. Both her brother and her significant other are fighting cases, and it’s hard to remain happy when so many of your loved ones are facing some real ish! Her brother, Jelani Maraj, appeared in a New York court yesterday with their mother Carol for a preliminary hearing to set a trial schedule for underage rape charges. Though it was previously reported that Nicki had bailed her brother out, it is now being reported that it was their mother, and that though Nicki had previously purchased the two properties that were put up for collateral, they are in her mother’s name now and it was her doing.
