Joey Bada$$ has given us hit after hit. “Curry Chicken“, “No. 99” and other singles, all lead up to his studio album, B4.Da.$$, scheduled to release January 20 – Joey’s birthday. The track list reveals guest appearances from Elle Varner, Action Bronson, who both collaborate on a bonus track, Georgia artist Raury, BJ The Chicago Kid and more. We are know in on the production credits, which features the late J Dilla. Produced by J Dilla and The Roots is Joey’s track number seven, “Like Me“. J Dilla, known for producing for artist A Tribe Called Quest, has been deceased for a little over eight years. Alongside Dilla for production is Statik Selektah, DJ Premier, Feddie Joachim and more. Last night on Wednesday, October 29th, legendary Queensbridge emcee Nas made a special pop-up appearance at Mass Appeal’s event for Run The Jewels at Nitehawk Cinema in Brooklyn. The Illmatic OG gave the crowd a preview of his new J-Dilla produced track entitled “The Season.” We’re silly to think that such an important member of Hip-Hop society would just release an amazing documentary and not have any new music to go with it, right? Although the legendary producer J. Dilla has passed, his legacy continues to live on, and this latest move proves that he has left his mark will within history! The DC Smithsonian has revealed that musical equipment such as an Akai MIDI Production Center 3000 Limited Edition MPC, a Minimoog Voyager synthesizer and more owned by J.Dilla has been donated to the establishment, and will be exhibited for display. The classic pieces of equipment have been donated by Maureen “Ma Dukes” Yancey, the mother of the late Dilla; check out the announcement here!
