J. Cole Announces “Born Sinner” Release Date….And He’s Giving Someone Competition!

Just a few minutes ago, J. Cole took to Twitter to reveal the release date for his highly anticipated sophomore album, Born Sinner. Fans have been waiting for a new project from Jermaine since he dropped his debut almost 2 years ago now! (It was September of 2011…) B.S. was originally slated to come out on January 28th of this year, but J revealed on New Year’s Eve that wasn’t happening. Now we have a new date, and hopefully this one sticks! However, there is one rapper that may be hoping it DOESN’T stick…Wale’s The Gift drops the very same day. That may be a fun, friendly competition though, and help drive both artists’ sales..a la the Kanye vs. 50 Cent album face-off in 2007. What do you think? Jay-Z’s Signing Deals All Over The Place – Who Has He Signed With NOW ?!?!

It’s no secret that Jay-Z is in the middle of some BIG time deals right now. Publishing rights may go to Warner/Chappelle Music, but this time Jigga has signed Roc Nation to Universal Music Group. Universal will handle all business aspects. The deal will allow Roc Nation to be a “standalone label.” The company will have rights to Jay’s up-coming album as well as other Roc Nation artists, such as Rihanna, and J. Cole, but still allow the label to be an independent one. Technically it’s not independent then – correct? Drop down bottom and see what the Cuba visting man had to say about the signing.
