The latest rapper to be in the crosshairs of the IRS is none other than the boss himself, Rick Ross. The International Revenue Service claims he owes alot of tax money stemming back from early as 2012, and is yet to pay them.
Nelly’s “Hot In Herre” Streams Really Did Spike After Fans Try To Help With IRS Debt!
Following news that Nelly was in debt with the IRS to the tune of $2.5 million, fans (and trolls – though they still helped) made a quick call to action with the trending topic #SaveNelly. Somehow, a plan to stream “Hot In Herre” as much as humanly possible was hatched, with the hopes that the streaming revenue would provide a cushion – if not total relief – for the debt.
Nas Owes $570k In Back Taxes
Another day, another celeb who owes money to the IRS. This time it’s our guy Nas, who according to the state of Georgia’s Department of Revenue, he needs to pay up $571,550 for his 2007 income. This breakdown amounts to $425,842 in back state taxes, a $60,000 penalty, $57,000 in interest and a $71,000 “collection fee.” With all these successful investments he has going on, however, I’m sure Esco can take care of this quickly! Alright Weezy, WHO DO WE NEED TO FIRE IN YOUR ACCOUNTING DEPARTMENT? We know you have money, we know you don’t handle your money (as a majority of celebrities do not,) so obviously someone on your team is not taking care of business, and they have to go! Bringing his grand total to $12.9 million dollars, Lil Wayne has been hit with yet another lien for $868,079.89 in taxes for the year 2014. The Young Money rapper has an estimated networth of $150 million, so this would be a drop in the bucket – if he didn’t owe $5,843,952 for 2011 and $6,311,132 for 2012. Thus far, he’s only paid $175,719 of that debt, and he has a handful of other lawsuits on the table as well.
YIKES: MC Hammer Owes Uncle Sam Some Serious Paper!
It looks like MC Hammer needs to start cutting checks because he is in the dog house with Uncle Sam! The rapper currently owes $800,000 to the IRS for unpaid taxes. When he infamously filed for bankruptcy awhile back, the IRS is claiming that they did not get any of that money because it went straight to the creditors that he owed almost $1 million dollars to.
