The Knicks season that already appears to be headed for a long, ugly journey just got a little harder as it was announced that Russell Westbrook will return for the Oklahoma City Thunder tonight, just in time to welcome the Knicks. At first glance the matchup against OKC could of been good for the Knicks as they struggle early in the season and could use a win against a depleted Thunder team. That theory however changed real fast with this announcement.

As Smart went towards the basket during the Celtics game with the Pacers, his ankle took a ugly roll and was hard to watch. The fact that he couldn’t put any pressure on it and was serious enough to be carted off is not a good sign. Hopefully the outcome is not as bad as it looked.

By now you probably already know Russell Westbrook fractured his hand last night against the Clippers. What was not known was how much time would Russell miss due to the injury and now we know. Doctors are saying he will be out about 4-6 weeks as his hand heels, and in the meantime the Thunder are in serious trouble. With Durant scheduled to miss at least another month, you can bet the month of November is going to be a forgettable one in Oklahoma City.
