Two-time Indianapolis 500 winner Dan Wheldon was remembered as a champion, loving husband, father and brother during an emotional memorial service for the British racer on Saturday. Â Family members, fellow drivers and racing fans attended the service for Wheldon, who was killed on October 16 in a fierce 15-car crash during the opening laps of the IndyCar season-finale at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Posted by Sabrina B. @gametimegirl George Maloof was walking through the Palms casino on Saturday when someone surprised him with a bear hug.  When Maloof turned to face the exuberant greeter he recognized IndyCar driver Dan Wheldon. They had developed a bond six years earlier, when Wheldon won the Indianapolis 500 as a rookie with the Palms as a first-time sponsor of Michael Andretti’s racing team.
