A federal judge ruled Wednesday that Arizona authorities can enforce a law that has been under a two-year battle for approval. Officers, whom question the immigration status of those they suspect, can now require them to prove their citizenship. Parts of Alabama’s Immigration Law Suspended By Appeals Court
The Obama Administration formally asked the appeals court to block Alabama’s Immigration law earlier this month. Earlier today the federal appeals court announced that they will be suspending parts of the law while considering banning it all together. It could be months before the court has a final decision about the law. The Alabama law is considered the toughest immigration law in the country and has caused quiet a stir. Justice Department Wants To Ban Alabama Immigration Law
The Obama administration has formally asked an appeals court to block Alabama’s immigration law. The Alabama law is considered the toughest immigration law in the entire country and has sparked discrimination against foreign born people including citizens. The law has also caused a decrease in school attendance because non-citizen parents are afraid to send their children to school in fear that immigration will take them from school in a ploy to find people living here illegally.
