Kanye West had a huge grin on his face as he and wife Kim Kardashian hopped into a Hyundai Elantra following a fancy dinner at Nobu on Saturday night…and probably because he knew how un-Kanye of him it was to even be near an $18,000 car. The car clearly belonged to an associate or employee of Ye’s, and as said person gets in the driver’s seat, Kanye puts Kim in the backseat, and he jumps in the front passenger seat – grin in tact the entire time. Auto Talk: NHTSA expanding Hyundai Elantra investigation over possible airbag danger
Back in May, we reported on the unlucky driver of a 2012 Hyundai Elantra who claimed his ear was sliced in half following the deployment of his side airbag. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has since looked into the incident, and while it did not issue a recall, it has expanded its investigation to include all fifth-generation (2011 through 2013 model years) Elantra sedans. According to research by Edmunds.com, the $19,711 average transaction price of the 2012 Hyundai Elantra is besting that of its chief rivals, the Toyota Corolla by $1,500 and the new Honda Civic by $500. Hyundai Elantra faces pair of airbag recalls
Hyundai has issued two airbag recalls that cover nearly 300,000 Elantra models. The first recall, which involves some 188,697 vehicles sold between 2007 to 2009, will fix a passenger airbag issue. @funkmasterflex
