Report Shows Heavy D Was Over 300lbs When He Passed; Autopsy Set for Today
According to the law officials that had to record Heavy D’s height and weight as part of their investigation into his sudden and unexpected passing, the hip-hop legend weighed in at 344 pounds and measured in at 6’4″. Heavy had lost 135 pounds in 2003, but insisted the decision to drop the weight was in an effort to get acting roles and wasn’t health related. Having come up in the game at the same time and losing a fellow legend is hard enough, but Heavy D was more than just a friend of Pete Rock’s…he was his first cousin. Early this morning, Pete called in to Hot 97’s morning show with Cipha Sounds, Peter Rosenberg and Kay Foxx to discuss his cousin’s untimely passing yesterday. So sad. RIP again, Heavy D!
