HBO extended their deal with Universal Pictures that will last through 2022, though the terms of the deal have not been released those close to the story have said that the deal is similar to the one they struck with 20th Century Fox that calls for $200 million a year for 20th Century Fox movies. HBO is in serious legal trouble following the cover-up of deaths of horses and other cruelty to animals charges on the set of their now cancelled serious, “Luck.” “Luck” was a racing drama that was cancelled back in March. Now Barbara Casey, who was director of production in the American Humane Association’s film and television unit, is suing HBO for wrongful termination as well as abuse to animals. According to Casey, HBO and Stewart Productions pushed the AHA to allow them to violate their standards to film. Read more details below. Julie A.
