A major U.S. beef processing company is suing ABC News for $1.2 billion — claiming the network’s coverage of a product called “pink slime” has duped consumers into believing it’s unhealthy and unsafe. The company behind the lawsuit is Beef Products Inc. — which claims ABC News made somewhere around 200 “false and misleading and defamatory” statements about the product … which BPI refers to as lean, finely textured beef. There’s A 1 In 4 Chance Of Ground Beef Containing Fatal Bacteria
A new, disturbing study shows that 25% of ground meat contains a potentially fatal bacteria. The bacteria comes from the use of antibiotics on healthy farm animals and the FDA knew of the potential risk but chose not to fight against it. According to the FDA the fatal bacteria can be killed off by properly cooking all ground meat. Read more after the jump. Julie1205
