Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl was a prisoner of the Afghan militants for five years. A promise from the U.S. to release five Taliban members held at Guantanamo Bay is what freed Bergdahl. After getting back on U.S. soil, Bergdahl was immediately taken to Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany, who now says that he is stable. Of course he has to remain in the facility for a bit longer for a treatment that, “includes attention to dietary and nutrition needs after almost five years in captivity,” but at least he recovering.
