(Video) Auto Talk: Kia Hamsters return for party at the opera

As promised, the Kia Hamsters have returned for yet another volley of advertisements to show off the Soul. We’ve seen the rodents play roles in some fairly strange situations in the past, but the newest clip takes top honors in that department. Funk Flex

Auto Talk: BMW 3 Series GT peels off more camo

We’ll spare you the discussion about whether or not it actually makes sense for BMW to create a Gran Turismo version of its 3 Series, especially given the dismal sales of the larger 5 Series Gran Turismo here in the United States. And nevermind the fact that BMW calls its new 3GT “a style conscious car with the dynamic prowess to match its looks.” (We’ve heard that before.) All we know is, the more functional (but not as functional as a wagon) 3 Series is headed our way, and it’s expected to debut at the Paris Motor Show in late September. Funk Flex

(Video) Auto Talk: Next 911 GT3 caught on video with PDK transmission

There’s been debate about whether the 2013 Porsche 911 GT3 will come with a manual transmission or PDK only. Inside Line has said that only one transmission will come to market, and the 911’s product chief, August Achleitner, told IL that both transmissions were being tested but that it looked like the PDK would get the nod. Few outside Porsche testing facilities know what the answer final is, but thanks to some spy video, we now know what a PDK-equipped GT3 would sound like. Funk Flex

Auto Talk: Nissan GT-R successor targeted for 2018

All is not lost for the future of the Nissan GT-R, according to Inside line. As you may recall, the site recently reported that CEO Carlos Ghosn had yet to green-light the next-generation supercar despite the fact that the model is quickly approaching its sixth anniversary. Now, IL indicates a new version of the GT-R will show up in 2018. Before that, a significant refresh will bow in 2013 as a 2014 model. With substantially revised front and rear fascias and driveline changes, the model should serve as a suitable stop-gap between now and when the next-generation GT-R touches ground. Funk Flex
