Just when you thought the San Francisco 49ers couldn’t get any better, they made a big offseason splash. They acquired Super Bowl winning wide receiver Anquan Boldin from the Baltimore Ravens and added him to their pistol offense of Vernon Davis, Frank Gore, Michael Crabtree and young multi-talented quarterback Colin Kaepernick. Their defense was already pretty good, ranked 3rd overall but everyone knows they need a new cornerback. Many speculated they would make a run and trade for Pro Bowl CB Darrelle Revis from the Jets but that has died down. Instead they are contenders for Nnamdi Asomugha who was a hot commodity in free agency two years ago but was released from the Philadelphia Eagles after failing to produce. Read more after the jump.
