Despite the fact he’s a dead ringer for the late Queen frontman Freddie Mercury, actor Sacha Baron Cohen has decided drop out of the upcoming biopic on the singer. The issue is apparently over how Mercury would be depicted. Cohen was looking to show a darker, grittier portrayal, while the film’s directors and Mercury’s former bandmmates wanted a more family-friendly portrait of Queen in their prime. Aka, leaving out his drug use and death from AIDS. However, the show must go on, and producers are said to be reaching out to find another actor to play the singer.
