Fox is always quick when it comes to sending DCMA notifications to protect its shows from being pirated online. This time someone made a mistake. There is a novel called Homeland that has nothing to do with the hit series on Showtime with the same name.
Fox announced today that the company will be renewing the show, Glee for two more season. “Glee debuted as the first and only successful musical comedy series on television, and more than four years later, it continues to defy genres, break new ground and have a significant impact on popular culture,” Fox entertainment chairman Kevin Reilly said in a statement announcing the news.
Companies like Microsoft, NBC Universal and Fox have been asking Google and ChillingEffects.org to stop posting the take down orders. The companies are saying the DMCA notice contain URLS of take downs that have already been taken down. The DMCA notices are the easiest way for the companies of certain copyrights to have their infringed work taken down from the internet quickly.
FX is stepping their game up with a new network they will be releasing September 2nd called FXX (that’s not a typo!). FX network President John Landgraf confirmed the new network will be in as many as 70 million homes–wait, how are they going to do that?
America’s Most Wanted is no more. Lifetime cancelled the show after a very impressive 25 year run, though a new show is in the works with the host and producer John Walsh. Lifetime looks forward to its John Walsh Investigates series launch while discontinuing it’s America’s Most Wanted brand. America’s Most Wanted ran on Fox from 1988-2011 when it was cancelled by Fox but was picked up by Lifetime. AMW was a staple in American television for years and led to many captures, and even lent its name to Weezy’s next tour! Hit the jump for more.
