The NBA starting taking “flops” much more serious this year. Mavs Owner Mark Cuban is taking it to another level though. He is paying out of his own pocket for a study to be done on it at Southern Methodist University. It’s not like he doesn’t have the money, and to be honest there have been some pretty blatant flopping going on during the playoffs. See what he said after the jump.
We all saw this coming. SMH. Flopping is out of hand. It was announced this morning that the league has fined LeBron James, David West & Lance Stephenson $5,000 each. This isn’t hurting anyone’s pockets, esp. LeBron’s. As Darren Rovell points out, “LeBron gets $5K flopping fine. Made $4,458 per in game MINUTE this season.”
I think there’s a lot of NBA fans that will disagree with LeBron saying he’s not a flopper. C’mon Bron! Don’t do this. LeBron James vehemently denies he’s a flopper but openly recognizes it as an effective strategy. What do you guys think?! Check out the report & weigh in…
I had to laugh at this when I saw it during game 1 against the Pacers. I give JR credit for drawing the foul, but it was funny to see. The NBA office did not agree with me and fined JR $5,000 today for the flop. They did say before the playoffs that flopping would not be tolerated and there would be no warnings. If you didn’t see it, watch it after the jump.
The NBA is changing things up for the playoffs! During the regular season, the first flop is a warning then you get fined after that. Well not for the playoffs! Check out what their new playoff flopping policy will be.
