Nicki Minaj may not see eye-to-eye with Lil Kim, but she certainly has love for another that paved the way before her, Foxy Brown. Taking to Instagram in celebration of Fox Boogie’s 36th birthday on September 6, Nicki rapped a few bars from Fox’s 2001 song, “Tables Will Turn.” “Why, so many b*tches wanna take my flow,” Nicki rapped in the Instagram video. “I’m too hot, too dope/Flow like that pink Cris and Mimosa/Who the f*ck dope-ah? Eh?” finishing with, “Happy Belated Birthday Foxy, love you.” In a 2009 interview with me, Nicki named Foxy, Kim and Remy in a tie for one of her “top 5 dead or alive” artists. “Remy’s just a beast, Foxy has impeccable timing and a delivery to die for, Kim is the pioneer for my generation,” Nicki told me. “She’s the trend setter. She’s the Queen Bee.” I wish her relationship with Kim would have stayed in tact as much as Fox and Rem!
As the beef between Lil Kim and Nicki Minaj continues to go on (solely from Kim’s side, though,) Remy Ma has something to say about it. In a recent interview, the newly freed raptress (who has expressed the desire to work with all of her fellow raptresses) said the following:
“It’s been going on for too long. That’s one thing. On Kim’s part, I would have liked if she put out more music. Not just music directed at the person she’s upset. Just music in general. If you feel like you hold a certain position, it’s so easy to prove that by putting out [new] material.”
I couldn’t agree more! Less beef and more music is always the best solution! Check out Remy’s full interview below.
Congratulations are in order for a certain Philadelphia raptress! Miss E-V-E will be headed down the aisle soon, as her British millionaire boo Maximillion Cooper has officially popped the question! The 41-year-old Gumball 3000 founder got down on one knee on Christmas day, and of course, the answer was “yes!” Before Eve confirmed it on Twitter, fans were already suspicious, as she posted the above photo with her mother and brother, where you can see a huge rock on her ring finger. The pair have been dating for approximately 3 years. This will be Eve’s first marriage, and the second for Max. Congrats to both!
The ratio of male to female rappers in hip hop has and sadly probably will never be equal. It seems that currently there is practically no female representation the game so it’s always good when a good female makes a breakthrough or a female heads back to the studio to create new music. A certain female rapper announced that she is in fact back in the studio finishing up her album. Let’s just hope it’s not as awful as the attempts she’s had in the recent past, but they probably will be. Find out who it is below.
