I’m sure the Iggy Azalea haters aren’t going to like this one! If you’ve heard Jidenna‘s breakout hit “Classic Man,” you may notice that it bears a resemblance to Iggy‘s 2014 hit, “Fancy”…and that’s because the producer sampled her record for it! Iggy confirmed the news recently on Twitter, and revealed that she also gets a percent (albeit probably a small one) of the song’s earnings. Complex then did a little digging just to verify her claims, and Iggy is indeed listed as a composer in the song’s credits! Such a random tidbit.

The Australian raptress has always adamantly denied rumors that she doesn’t write her own lyrics – something that for whatever reason, many feel is a skill that women who rap don’t possess like their male counterparts. In a new interview with Sway In The Morning, however, Iggy’s past collaborator Skeme (an up-and-comer from Inglewood, CA) sort of spilled the beans on his parts of her smash hit, “Fancy.” “Yeah, we had something to do with it,” Skeme responded to Sway after trying to change the subject. “A lot of vibe, a lot of push. We about to put trust funds up for that song.”

There’s no denying that Iggy Azalea’s chart-topping single “Fancy” has a beat very reminiscent of DJ Mustard’s signature sound, and naturally, he’s none too pleased about the biting. During his “CRWN: A Conversation With Elliott Wilson & DJ Mustard” interview earlier this week, the super-producer broke down exactly what he’s mad at Iggy for it. “At first I was like, ‘Yeah, you trippin,’” Mustard told YN. “I know Iggy. We know her. She used to be chillin’ with me, [Ty Dolla $ign], YG. She used to be chillin’ with us. She knows the sound. She knows how hard we was working to make that sound and for you to go to somebody else or for you to do whatever you did, whatever they did and just be like, ‘Oh this is new and I don’t know why Mustard dissed…’ No. You know why.” The song is produced by London-based trio, The Invisible Men.
