Andre Cassagnes invented the Etch-A-Sketch back in the 1950’s. Cassagnes debuted his toy at the Nuremberg Toy Fair in 1959 and it was picked up by Ohio Art. The now famous toy was launched in 1960 and looked similar to the ones we know today. Although not many even knew Cassagnes’ name, we all know his famous toy and many of use have childhood memories playing with it. Cassagnes passed away on January 16 died in Paris, France.
