Erykah Badu stepped back into the spotlight not too long ago, to give us her spin on Drake’s hit record ‘Hotline Bling.’ Its been five years since her last album New Amerykah Part Two (Return of the Ankh), however the ‘Hotline Bling Remix’ seems to have inspired Ms. Badu because it was released along with the promise of a mixtape in the works. Erykah Badu Will Host The 2015 Soul Train Awards
Today CENTRIC announced that the 2015 Soul Train Awards will be hosted by the ever-fabulous Erykah Badu. The singer-song writer will be celebrating R&B legends and the new generation in Las Vegas on Nov. 6th. This year’s nominees include Kendrick Lamar, The Weeknd, Tyrese, Trey Songz, Chris Brown, Fetty Wap, Big Sean and many more. Being honored this year with the Legends Award is Babyface and Jill Scott will also receive first-ever Lady of Soul award. In an attempt to divulge the secret of conveying joy within one’s own life, we must, “BE STILL. OBSERVE. IDENTIFY. ACCEPT. ELIMINATE.,” she writes.
