During Kendrick Lamar’s promotional run for his new album “good kid, m.A.A.d city”, he sat down to speak with Hot 97’s Cipha Sounds & Rosenburg. Kendrick spoke on the album and discussed Dr. Dre’s involvement as well. He made a humble statement in saying that his album is not a classic! Hit the jump to watch the interview, and make sure to pick up his album which is available in stores and on iTunes now. Melissa Nash
Kendrick Lamar’s much anticipated album will hit stores next Tuesday, October 23. One of the tracks on the forthcoming album, good kid, m.A.A.d city, is “Bitch, Don’t Kill My Vibe.” While in the studio one day, Kendrick played the track for Andre 3K and Dr. Dre and it seems as if it got their approval. Watch the footage of the trio, who hopefully collabed on a track while together, in the studio below. Julie A.
Yesterday, the Doc was in NYC for a Beats By Dre press conference, revealing three new products in their line. Apparently his wife Nicole came along for the ride, and the cute couple were spotted leaving their hotel toward the end of the day. They look such a normal, down-to-earth couple! So refreshing in today’s over-the-top society! Can’t forget they’re rolling in dough though, LOL! More photos of the twosome in the gallery. Marisa Mendez
Ah, just what the doctor prescribed! Since parting ways with their Monster manufacturer earlier this year, the guys over at Beats By Dre launched their first post-Monster products yesterday in Manhattan, and it looks like they’ll be doing just fine without them. Beginning over at their Soho store (which will celebrate a year on November 2nd thanks to its success, originally supposed to be only a 3-month pop-up shop!), Beats’ head honchos Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine announced three new products, the portable “Beats Pill” speaker (I see what you did there, Dre), Beats Executive headphones and urBeats earbuds that promise not to slip out of your ear. Beats then made their way to Times Square, where they held arguably the best campaign I’ve seen from a company in quite some time! Putting a photo booth smack dab in the center of all the action, people were able to check out the Solo HD headphones in their recently-launched candy color-scheme, take a photo with them on, add their own word to it and see their face on THREE billboards in Times Square! How cool is that! Mine is above, and it’s tremendez. In the gallery, check out photos from the press conference along with the new products. Marisa Mendez
We know that some celebrities will do anything to remain relevant. Understandable is a rapper like Dr. Dre selling headphones or a model like Tyra Banks endorsing beauty products, but some of these food endorsements are just plain silly.
