The Drama King DJ Kay Slay shows just how crazy sh*t can get on new record featuring DJ Paul, Busta Rhymes & Vado. I might slap somebody right now for no reason!!! DJ RellyRell
Earlier this week, Three 6 Mafia member DJ Paul was arrested in NYC after cops patted him down for having an open beer in public and found a taser in his pocket. He later spoke to TMZ about the arrest, explaining he was without his bodyguard that night and needed some sort of protection, and didn’t know that the taser was actually illegal. He’d thought of it on the same level as pepper spray. Now out of jail and continuing the promo run that had been interrupted by the brief jail stint, Paul hit up Sway’s Shade 45 morning show today to discuss his new album and of course, the arrest. See what he had to say about it below. Marisa Mendez
DJ Paul had a silly arrest last night in the Big Apple, child’s play compared to what some of his fellow entertainers have been arrested for (Nelly and his heroin-filled tourbus, for example?). Unfortunately, it’s going to tarnish his previously clean record, but he plans to fight the charges. “I honestly didn’t know it was illegal,” Paul told TMZ. “I thought it was at the same level as pepper spray.” I can agree with him there, though it does seem a bit more serious than some spray, no? LOL. He also made quite a valid point that he was on his own without his bodyguard, and a city like Manhattan is not somewhere you just want to walk around without protection when you’re a person of notoriety. As far as the open Corona, he didn’t comment on it but it’s not exactly a heinous crime. More like an, “Oops!” kind of situation. I’m sure the Three 6 Mafia member will be just fine. Marisa Mendez
Just as Juicy J is shooting to the top of the charts with his solo venture “Bands A Make Her Dance,” it looks like his fellow Three 6 Mafia group member DJ Paul isn’t doing as well! AHH reports he was arrested in the Big Apple last night, after he’d stopped at a deli in midtown to buy a beer and left with the open container in a sleeve. A cop started following him and decided to search him, when Paul informed the officer that he had a taser in his pocket. Yikes. It’s nothing too major though, as he was only charged with misdemeanor possession of a weapon and carrying an open container in public. He’ll be out later this morning, though he’s already missed some promo for his new album, the reason he was in NYC at all. You’ll never guess what happened while he was being booked, though!
