So sad! The Harry Potter star that played Harry Potter’s Uncle Vernon in the beloved movies has passed away in England on Thursday following heart surgery. He was only 65. Daniel Radcliff, better known as Harry Potter made a statement yesterday, “Richard was by my side during two of the most important moments of my career … I was proud to say I knew him.” We pray for him and his family. Booth Garner, former two-term Washington governor passed away on Friday at his Tacoma home. He was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease two years after he ended his last term as the state’s 19th governor. In his biography, he was asked how he wanted to be remembered, he said, “I tried to help people,” then goes on to say, “I got out of the office and talked with real people, and I think I made a difference.” We send our prayers and respect to his family!
Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez has died, Vice President Maduro officially announced. In a national broadcast, Maduro said Chavez died Tuesday at 4:25 PM. The VP teared up as he announced the news. We will have more details as it comes in.
On Tuesday at 11 am, a 87-year-old resident of Glenwood Gardens collapsed at the facility while a staff member called 911 but refused to give the woman CPR. The elder woman was a resident at a Bakersfield retirement facility, and was denied CPR because it was against the facilities rules. Imagine your own grandmother or grandfather denied CPR — I can only image what it would be like to make that decision, but at the end of the day… isn’t life more important? The dispatcher is heard begging one of the nurses for help but they all refused. Hear the chilling footage of the sad phone called below.
Such a sad, but happy night for the Lakers last night. Before they took on the Celtics (and won), they honored Lakers’ owner Dr. Jerry Buss with a tribute video.
