Sum 41 singer Deryck Whibley took on Avril Lavigne’s last name in their 2006 marriage, becoming Deryck Lavigne Whibley, and 3 years after their divorce…he’s finally dropped the ‘Lavigne.’ Took him long enough, huh? It seemed as if he wasn’t going to bother changing it for a while, but he eventually filed the motion to change it shortly after his ex married Nickelback frontman, Chad Kroger. Deryck also has a new fiancée himself, who I’m sure was also a major factor in the decision.

While this is pretty funny, it almost makes Avril Lavigne’s ex-hubby Deryck Whibley look a little bitter, no? Avril and the Sum 41 frontman broke up a few years back, and both have since moved on. Avril is now engaged to Nickelback singer Chad Kroeger, while Deryck is dating model Ari Parker. But for this Halloween, Deryck and Ari pulled a little switcheroo and decided to dress as Avril and Chad! The costumes were pretty good, but even better was Chad’s zinger in response on Twitter!
