Congress Receives A $4 Trillion Spending Budget Plan, Courtesy Of President Obama

President Barack Obama is just half-way through his second term as President of the United States, and boy-oh-boy is he trying to make a way – for us little people – with the little bit of time given. Obama – the latest in a string of “Uptown Funk” craze – addressed the nation with news that he presented Congress with a $4 trillion budget plan, hopefully to kick-off in 2016. “We would be making a critical error if we avoided making these investments,” he said. “We can’t afford not to.” Of course, Republicans are already ready to drop the bomb on the proposal. According to Fox News, Republicans are claiming that the budget is nothing but a, ‘bundle of new spending, new taxes — and new borrowing.’ House Budget Committee Chairman Tom Price says, “It seems to be more of the same policies that have resulted in the lowest, slowest economic recovery out of an economic downturn in the history of the country.” Hit the jump for more.

(Video) Breaking: Senate Votes For “Nuclear Option!”

The Senate voted 52 to 48 to change in the filibuster rules and clear the way for many of Obama’s judicial nominees. Bought on by Senate Majority Leader, Harry Reid was what he called the, “nuclear option,” which is for Senate rules to be passed by most executive and judicial nominees. What was to be a 60-vote decision maker is now placed on the table as – majority rules. Votes would include all courts, minus the Supreme. When he raised this issue this [Thursday] morning, Reid stated, “It’s time to change before this institution becomes obsolete.” Of course, this lead to a major debate between the new vs. old of Democrats, and the Republicans are saying that if/when they take the White House, they’ll change the rules for all courts, including the Supreme. All-in-all, the rules have changed of changing rules. Hit the jump for more.

(Photos) Jesse Jackson Jr. Sentenced To 30 Months!

The son of civil rights’ activist, Jesse Jackson, Jesse Jr. has recently been sentenced to 30 months in jail. A little more than a year ago, Jr. was a young Democratic congressman that worked to increase the federal minimum wage. Based in Chicago, he did whatever was necessary to help the less fortunate. Including spending $750,000 from his campaign on personal items. It seems that “less fortunate” included himself.
